LARKSPUR These plants need rich, evenly moist, loamy humus, alkaline to slightly acid and respond to additional feeding during the growing season. Planting areas should have sharp drainage and protection from wind. Tall types need to be staked. Leaves are green, palmately lobed and large. Traditionally in great demand in perennial gardens for colorful and profusely blooming spikes and considered worth special care.D. e. ‘Royal Aspirations’- A New Millennium Hybrid which are hand pollinated to produce high quality plants with improved flower color and habit.  New Millennium Hybrids are also bred for their increased tolerance to humidity, a limiting factor in their survivability in areas with hot humid summers.  ‘Royal Aspirations’ flowers in hues of blues and purples and can reach a height of six feet.
