Delosperma floribundum

ICE PLANT  I always find it fascinating to grow plants from afar, whether it is an Epimedium from the mountains of China or an Ice Plant from South Africa, you can almost travel the world with a stroll through the garden.  Being native to arid regions of South Africa, one must take this into consideration when using it in the garden.  Plants are clump formers with a trailing habit and can be cut back in late summer to rejuvenate the clump.  Flowers are deep pink and open and close in response to the sun. 
Delosperma floribundum ‘Starburst’- Similar to the species except for flowers having a burst of white at their centers.
